Rape Crisis Scotland Board Biographies

Lindsey Millen

Lindsey is the Chair of the Rape Crisis Scotland board. She currently works as Head of Policy and Development at Close the Gap, a charity working on women’s labour market in equality. She leads on a wide range of policy advocacy including on education, human rights, social care and equality legislation. Lindsey also leads Close the Gap’s employer engagement work, supporting employers to close their gender pay gap. She brings experience to the RCS board in policy advocacy, workers’ rights, finance, and equality and human rights.

 

 

 

Lisa Ward

Lisa is the Vice Chair of our Board of Directors and CEO at Shetland Rape Crisis, based in The Compass Centre in the Shetland Isles. The centre provides support, counselling, and advocacy for anyone in Shetland (age 13+) affected by sexual harm and violence. Lisa has been with the centre since its founding in 2017 and has a background in communications, project management, and governance. Lisa is also a musician and songwriter in the electro-rock band Husfu.

 

 

 

 

Esther Dominy 

Esther currently works in communications in the higher education sector having previously worked across a range of areas including on access and participation policy and campaigns to challenge gender-based violence. She brings to the board experience in policy, campaigns, communications and strategy development.

 

Katie Hardy-Jensen

Katie Hardy-Jensen is the CEO of Dundee and Angus Womens Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (WRASAC) and joined the RCS board in January 2023. A proud feminist, Katie is passionate about working in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) arena and describes her current role as her dream job. She moved to Scotland in 2020 to take up her current post having previously managed services for offenders, vulnerable adults and children, and a children and young person’s domestic abuse therapeutic service in her hometown, Scarborough. Prior to this she was a trainer in North Yorkshire Police specialising in VAWG and Intelligence portfolios. Outside of work Katie loves exploring the Scottish countryside with her husband and dogs, and wild camping and swimming.
