We’re incredibly grateful to so many people every year whose generosity and imagination do so much to help Rape Crisis Scotland and the people we support. Fundraisers and individual donations make a massive difference to our work, and help not only to sustain vital services, but also to raise awareness of the impact of sexual violence and how we can help.
Rape Crisis Scotland has an online fundraising facility set up through JustGiving. If you’re interested in donating online, or fundraising on our behalf, you can find out more about how to do this here. Some people prefer to make a one-off contribution; others choose to make a regular (e.g. monthly) donation. JustGiving allows you to set up a fundraising page, to sponsor someone, and to donate to us directly. If you’d prefer to donate by phone, please phone us on 0141 331 4180.
What can I do?
People raise funds for Rape Crisis Scotland in all sorts of ways. From sponsored runs, swims, climbs and cycles to quiz nights, bake sales, fashion shows and bungee jumps, there’s really no limit on the number of ways to get involved.
If you’re thinking about doing something and want to find out more, look out for our forthcoming Fundraising Guide, which will have plenty of ideas and also offer tips on things to think about. We can help if you’d like us to e.g. with resources like posters, postcards, leaflets and other materials or with letters of support. We can also help to promote your fundraiser.
Our ’16 Pounds for 16 Days’ fundraiser in 2019 saw an incredible £18,081 raised in only a couple of weeks when people responded with incredible generosity and ingenuity to our biggest ever crowdfunder. We set this up to help reduce waiting lists at Rape Crisis Centres, which had almost doubled in a year. Every single penny raised by our supporters helps us to give all survivors the support they deserve at the time they need it.

Easyfundraising
Did you know also that you can raise money for Rape Crisis Scotland or your local Centre without it costing you anything? Easyfundraising is an organisation which raises money from online retailers while you shop. There are a range of online retailers which take part including Amazon, Ebay, Tesco.com, John Lewis, Next, as well as shopping for holidays, insurance, mobile phones and many more.
All you have to do is create an account, register and then decide which charity you would like your donations to go to. Each time you plan on shopping online, if you start off via the Easyfundraising website it will register your donation. A few pence each time can soon add up and can make a real difference in supporting your cause. You could let others know about it, especially around birthdays and Christmas time. A Fundraising Toolkit includes free downloadable leaflets and posters together with messages and ideas for spreading the word to your supporters.
